MORGAN HOOPER

Born 1967. Commenced toolmaking apprenticeship 1985. Completed apprenticeship 1989. Moved from toolroom to Aluminum Die Correction. Spent three years correcting dies on 7 and 9 inch presses. 1992 started Extec Limited in Hamilton New Zealand

My background as a toolmaker and ultimately a customer to the diemakers prompted me to look for better dies. At the time the quality of dies being manufactured was very poor and often led to costly pre correction before they could go to the press. Hence an opportunity to buy a struggling die maker and turn it around to produce some of the best dies in the south pacific was an opportunity I could not pass up. Since 1992 Extec has grown from a fledgling die maker to the largest in New Zealand, supplying customers world wide. My commitment to listening to the customer and talking to the die correctors has produced many rewarding moments and ultimately dies that produce superior performances.

I look forward to showing you the Extec Difference

GIL HARTE

Trained at South Pacific Aluminum as a die corrector. Kawneer UK Chief Die Corrector. Norske Hydro Contract die corrector. Reynolds Aluminum Contract die corrector. Mck metals Chief Die Corrector. Started Extec New Zealand

During my time traveling throughout Europe I learned about many facets of correction and design from some of the best correctors of the day. Even though my role in some plants was chief die corrector, I was able to both pass, on and learn from many others in the field. I bring to Extec a wealth of design and correction knowledge that is infused in every die we make, and today as in the past I am still learning from my customers. Communication is the key to a successful die, and the end product delivered on time and to a high standard will always be a very satisfying feeling.
